Teach us to Pray!

"Be not rash with your mouth, nor let your heart be hasty to utter a word before God, for God is in heaven and you are on earth. Therefore let your words be few." Ecclesiastes 5:2

Through much desire for change and a hunger for growth, I've been learning about prayer. It is not as I previously taught. Its not about saying a certain thing or saying a certain thing a particular way, but rather about honesty. It is about knowing God; who he is as he described himself in his word, and knowing yourself in relation to him. A wise person studies how to address people of power before speaking, and no intelligent man speaks to anyone by just blurting out words without any real preconceived thought. The God of the universe, though He graciously bids us to come, no doubt deserves a much higher respect. I have seen passion in prayer and sincerity of souls by God's own (I included), therefore my earnest request is this: "Lord teach us to pray!"
