Suffering and the Sovereignty of God in my Life

I thank you Father, most High God, that you were pleased to bring this time of slight suffering and sorrow upon my family (e.g., Lam 3:38, Amos 3:6, etc). I praise you that I can trust in you despite pain, and that your perfect peace gives me hope. I woke up feeling as if I had sinned last night (perhaps I did, I do not know), and that you were now far; yet I know that you are closer than I think. I know that in you I have my living and moving and being, therefore I will hope in you! You word is a lamp to my feet, and my portion. You word revives me! Lord, you were pleased to cause grief for this time, please now have compassion according to your steadfast love (Lam 3:32)! Be pleased, oh Lord, to make us glad for as many days as you have afflicted us, and for as many years as we have seen evil (Psa 90:15), and teach us to number our days that we may gain a heart of wisdom (Psa 90:12). Thus far it is only I, and the rest are not saved. Be pleased to save them as well for your own name's sake. I thank you for your grace in calling me to yourself, therefore I will have hope according to your tender mercies.

Thank you for hope! My Zimbio
