"But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people." - 2 Timothy 3:1-5
Let them have all the swag they want, Christian. Let them remain the strong and boastful, the arrogant and rich, and the self-sufficient hedonist. Let them have their appearance of godliness in all their good works to the benefit of mankind. Let them continue in the way of Babel, to the futility of their works. But you, oh Christian, "have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross" (Phi 2:5-8). Let the lovers self swag themselves to death. Yours, oh Christian, is a life of lowliness. You were made by God and for God, therefore glorify Him!
