Clerk Expresses Compassion for Robber

Store clerk Angela Montez believes it was divine intervention that led a would-be robber to give up his heist and talk and pray with her for nearly 40 minutes Monday before turning himself in to Indianapolis police hours later. "I believe the Lord sent us both together," Montez told "Good Morning America" today. "The more we talked, he just broke down. ... He said, 'Talk to me. No one will talk to me. I have nobody.'"

Surveillance cameras recorded video of an armed man, alleged to be the suspect, 23-year-old Gregory L. Smith of Indianapolis, jumping over the counter at a check cashing store where Montez worked and pointing a gun at her Monday. Montez, fearing for her life, broke down, crying and praying.

"I can't even explain the feeling of a gun," she said. "I remember looking at the silver gun, and the finger was on the trigger. I thought, 'This is it.'"

“I was a veteran, before I was a teenager.” - Michael Jackson

There's so much to be said of Michael Jackson's death, and the implications for believers. For now, all I want to say by way of reminder is, make your life count, believer. Pray for Mike's family, and enjoy one of my favorite Michael Jackson here:

Nas: He Was My Favorite Rapper

"Back in the day we were slaves with whips and chains, now we slaves to whips and chains." - R-Swift

Ask any dude in the hood: "who's the illest rapper ever?" and the question itself is liable to have only 3 rappers named within the question..."Biggie, Jay Z, and Nas." I remember when Nas was my favorite rapper. He was so creative in his music, and he wasn't as outwardly wicked in his lyrics (another reason why a moral guy like me gravitated towards him and not other noted emcees like Biggie or Jay Z). And then something amazing happens: God saves me. Now I no longer see my righteous as something to boast about, and that compared to what God calls good, I am evil. Now I no longer see Nas as good compared to other gansta rappers like Biggie Smalls or 50 Cent; now I see Nas as compared to Christ and he's no longer looking like the good guy I once thought he was. Still yet, his music doesn't have the same appeal as it once did.

...Funny how that happens!

Blog Update (I bought the expensive phone...)

Remember last year when I asked if I should get the AT&T Fuze? Of course you don't, you don't even keep up with my blogs (shame on you!). Anyway, I just wanted to update that I got it. But, I got the Sprint version, which is better. Cool phone...this thing does everything I need, and a lot more! I'm happy with it! PS: I got an amazing discount because of a business account. Ha! Take that you greedy "make-everything-expensive" store people!

Blog Update ("I'm Still A Stupid Calvinist!")

<----Stupid Calvinist Boy

Here's my update:

Remember February's post about me looking for a good enough argument to disregard my branch of theology as good sounding lies (
see it here)? Well, I'm sorry to report that I'm still the dreaded "C" word. Yes, you've guessed it, I'm still "childish." Also noteworthy - and more relevant to the context of this post - I am still a Calvinist as well. Okay guys, you "Calvinism is evil" type people (some of you exist as dear brothers and sisters in the faith), you need to know that misnomers, cliches' and caricatures, just aren't going to do it for me. I'm going to need more convincing...and from scripture, please! My Zimbio

Time Will Not Erase Guilt

US immigration agents have detained an 89-year-old man at his Ohio home ahead of deportation to Germany to face trial for alleged Nazi war crimes.

John Demjanjuk is accused of being an accessory to the deaths of some 29,000 people at the Sobibor death camp in Nazi-occupied Poland in World War II.

His family claim that Mr Demjanjuk, who was carried out of his home in a wheelchair, is too ill to be deported.

Mr. Demjanjuk' story is analogous to our own. Think about it. We will all one day stand before our Creator God and give an account for what we've done, whether good or bad. Have you kept his commandments? If our earthly justice is blind insomuch as to not erase guilt because of age, how much more will a holy God remember your sins? I assure you, God is Holy and will not pardon the guilty. God is merciful, however. Here's how he shows his mercy. He has sent His only begotten Son into the world. Jesus, the God man, has lived the life that God required of us - He never once sinned in thought, word, or deed.

Moreover, he died as a sinless substitutionary sacrifice. God will not let sin go unpunished, therefore if you trust in Jesus, a great switch occurs. You will have Jesus' perfect righteousness credited to your account, as Jesus would have paid for your crimes (sin). In this way, God is glorified as he is seen for being merciful in forgiving us-type people, and we receive all the benefits of a loving God. More than just dying however, Jesus did raise from the grave on the 3rd day, and now ever lives to intercede for all those who trust in Him. Have your sins been forgiven? Do you trust in yourself; in your own goodness? Or, do you trust in Jesus for your justification before a Holy God?

Love is NOT saying "I Want My Kidney Back!"

'I saved her life and then, to be betrayed like this, is unfathomable. It's incomprehensible,' Mr Batista said. 'I feel humbled and betrayed and disregarded. Way of the Master

Remember when Kirk Cameron was Mike Sever? I do. I wanted to be like him in Elementary and Junior High school. Well, funny story. God saved him and used him to preach the gospel to me. In early 2003, as I surfed the internet, I happened to hear Kirk preach a message called "Soundly Saved," and I was born again. Cool, eh?
